Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of stuff about Gordon Ryan lately, especially his stomach. It’s like, super defined, right? So I figured, “Why not give it a shot?” I mean, I’m no world-class grappler, but I can try to work on my core.

Day 1: The Research Phase
First thing I did was, obviously, hit up the internet. I wanted to see what kind of exercises Gordon probably does. I found some stuff about planks, leg raises, and those crazy Russian twists. It looked…intense. I also figured diet has a lot to do with it, so I needed to get my eating in check, too.
Day 2: Starting Slow
I didn’t want to go too hard, too fast. I’m not trying to pull a muscle on day one! So I started with some basic stuff.
- Planks: I managed to hold a plank for, like, 30 seconds. My whole body was shaking!
- Leg Raises: I did a few sets of these, just lying on my back and lifting my legs. Burned like crazy.
- Crunches: Good old-fashioned crunches. Nothing fancy, just trying to get a feel for it.
Day 5: Feeling the Burn
Okay, a few days in, and I’m definitely feeling it. I’ve been trying to be consistent, doing these exercises every other day. I bumped up my plank time to a whole minute (woo!), and I’m doing more reps of the leg raises and crunches.
Day 10: Diet Tweaks
I know abs are made in the kitchen, or whatever. So, I’ve been trying to eat cleaner. Less junk food, more protein and veggies. It’s not a huge change, but I’m trying to be more mindful of what I’m eating.
Day 14: A Little Progress?
Two weeks in, and I’m not magically sporting a Gordon Ryan stomach. But I do feel stronger. My core feels tighter, and I can hold those planks for a bit longer without collapsing. It’s not a huge visual difference, but I can feel it.
I tried some Russian Twists and I felt the burn on side. I hold medicine ball and twist my torso side to side.
Day 20: Seeing Some Definition
The core feel more hard and start to see some defination.
Day 30: Keep going
A whole month in and I feel really good. I’ve been sticking to the exercises and the diet changes. And you know what? I think I’m actually starting to see some definition. It’s not a six-pack, but there’s definitely something happening there.
It’s not going to happen overnight, but I’m in this for the long haul. It’s about feeling stronger and healthier, not just looking like a fitness model.
