Alright, so you watched that movie, “Here Comes the Boom”, right? That one with the teacher who starts fighting to save the school? Yeah, that one. It was pretty good, huh? Made you laugh, made you cheer, maybe even made you cry a little bit. Now you’re sittin’ there scratchin’ your head, thinkin’, “What else can I watch that’s kinda like that?” Well, you come to the right place, honey. I got some ideas for ya.
Movies Like “Here Comes the Boom”: If You Liked That Fightin’ Teacher…
First off, if you liked the fightin’ part, there’s a whole bunch of movies about people punchin’ each other. Not all of ’em are funny like “Here Comes the Boom”, mind you. Some are real serious, real tough. But they got that same kinda spirit, you know? People fightin’ for somethin’ they believe in, or just fightin’ to win.
- “Fighting” – This one’s about a young fella who gets into underground fightin’. It’s got some heart, just like that teacher movie. Lots of punchin’, too.
- “Never Back Down” series – Now, these are about young folks learnin’ martial arts. Lots of kickin’ and flippin’ and all that. Pretty exciting stuff. There’s a bunch of these movies, so you got plenty to watch.
- “Beatdown” – Another one with tough guys and hard punches. This one’s a bit more gritty, more rough around the edges.
- “Death Warrior” – This sounds scary, don’t it? Well, it probably is. But if you like action, you might like this one too.
- “Locked Down” – Okay, this one might not be exactly like “Here Comes the Boom”, but it’s got that same underdog feel. People fightin’ against the odds.
- “Never Submit” – The name says it all, don’t it? Folks in this movie ain’t givin’ up, no matter what.
Movies with Laughs and Punches…
Now, if you liked the funny parts of “Here Comes the Boom”, that’s a different story. Not every fightin’ movie is gonna make you chuckle. But there’s some out there that do. They mix the action with the comedy, just like that teacher movie did.
“Zookeeper” – This one’s got Kevin James in it too, just like “Here Comes the Boom”. He’s not a teacher this time, he’s a zookeeper. And the animals talk! It’s silly, but it’s fun. And there’s some funny fightin’ in it, if I remember right.
“Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard” – This one’s a bit crazier, a bit more wild. But it’s got action and laughs, so it might scratch that itch. It’s got some big stars in it too, people you might recognize from other movies. Not sure if it’s got any teachers, though.
Movies like “Recoil” and “The Tournament”…
Then there’s these other movies, like “Recoil” and “The Tournament”. They’re more action, less comedy. “Recoil” is about some tough guy gettin’ revenge, and “The Tournament” is about a bunch of killers fightin’ each other. They ain’t for the faint of heart, but if you like that kind of stuff, they might be worth a watch. I heard tell they got plenty of action, plenty of fights. Just don’t expect too many laughs.
How to Find More Movies…
Now, if you want to find even more movies, you can do what my grandkids do. They go on that internet thingy, type in the name of the movie they liked, and then it gives ’em a whole list of other movies that are similar. They call it an algorithm, or somethin’ fancy like that. All I know is it works. You can find movies on Netflix, on Amazon, on that iTunes thing… They’re everywhere these days.
There’s even websites where people vote on movies and give recommendations. They say which ones are good, which ones are bad. It’s like havin’ a whole bunch of friends tellin’ you what to watch. You just gotta poke around a little bit and see what you can find. Don’t be afraid to try somethin’ new. You might be surprised what you end up likin’.
