Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this idea of creating an “Inter Milan All-Time XI,” and let me tell you, it’s way harder than it sounds. I mean, we’re talking about a club with a HUGE history, packed with legendary players. It’s like trying to pick your favorite child… if you had dozens of incredibly talented children.
Getting Started: The Obvious Choices
First, I started with the no-brainers, the guys you just have to include. I jotted down names like:
- Goalkeeper: Definitely Walter Zenga. The man was a wall.
- Defense: Giacinto Facchetti, no question. And probably Beppe Bergomi, Mr. Inter himself.
- Midfield: Lothar Matthäus, the German engine. And Javier Zanetti, Il Capitano, who played forever and always gave 100%.
- Attack:Ronaldo,before his injury he is unstopable.
The Tough Calls: Filling in the Gaps
But then it got tricky. Like, who do I put alongside Facchetti and Bergomi in defense? Tarcisio Burgnich? Armando Picchi? So many great defenders. I spent ages looking at old match reports and highlight reels (thank goodness for YouTube!).
And the midfield! Besides Matthäus and Zanetti, I was stuck. Do I go with Sandro Mazzola, for his elegance and goals? Or Luis Suárez, the architect of the Grande Inter? What about Dejan Stanković, with his thunderous shots?

I tried sketching out different lineups on a piece of paper, like a real manager (though I’m definitely not!). I quickly realized there’s no perfect answer.
Refining and Second-Guessing
I finally settled on a lineup, but I’m still not 100% happy. I keep second-guessing myself. Did I make the right choices? Should I have included someone else? I’ve changed my mind about five times already!
