Alright, alright, lemme tell ya somethin’ about this Aaron Judge fella and his dog. Folks keep askin’, can dogs really tell if someone’s a good egg or a bad apple? Well, I ain’t no fancy dog trainer or nothin’, but I’ve seen my fair share of dogs in my time, and they ain’t dumb, that’s for sure.
Aaron Judge, big fella, plays for the Yankees, you know, baseball? He’s got himself a couple of these little sausage dogs, dachshunds they call ’em. Penny and Gus, cute as buttons, those little fellas. Now, Aaron, he seems like a nice young man, always smilin’ and hittin’ them balls far. And them dogs, they love him to pieces, always waddlin’ around him and lickin’ his face.
So, can them dogs judge character? Like, can they tell if someone’s up to no good? Maybe, maybe not. Dogs, they’re good at readin’ people, seein’ if you’re happy or sad, or if you’re gonna give ’em a treat or somethin’. They look at how you stand, how you talk, if you’re lookin’ ’em in the eye or not. They can tell if you’re nervous or scared, they can smell it on ya, like fear sweat. You know what I mean? They ain’t fooled easy.
- Dogs are smart, they see more than you think
- Aaron Judge, he loves his dogs, treats ’em real good
- Dachshunds, funny lookin’ dogs, but loyal as can be
Now, this Gus dog, the little one, they say Aaron warms up with him before the games. Imagine that! Big strong baseball player, and he’s playin’ with his little doggie before he goes out to bat. Folks love it, they say Gus is a legend. Well, maybe he ain’t a real legend, like them old timey heroes, but he’s a legend in his own way, a cute little furry legend.
It’s like this, you see. A dog, he wants to feel safe and loved, just like us. If someone comes around actin’ all shifty, makin’ sudden moves, yelling or somethin’, the dog’s gonna get spooked, right? He’s gonna think, “Uh oh, this ain’t right.” But if you’re kind and gentle, the dog’s gonna wag his tail and lick your hand. It’s simple as that.
Penny and Gus, they’re lucky dogs, havin’ a good home with Aaron. He takes care of ’em, plays with ’em, gives ’em all the treats they want. And they give him love back, unconditional, like dogs do. It’s a good trade, a fair deal. You scratch my back, I’ll lick your face, that’s what I always say.
So, can dogs judge character? I reckon they can, in their own way. They can tell if someone’s good to them, if someone makes them feel safe. And that’s enough, ain’t it? They ain’t gonna judge you like people do, always lookin’ for somethin’ to pick at. Dogs, they just want a friend, someone to love and someone to love them back. And it looks like Aaron Judge and his dogs got that figured out.
And that’s all there is to it, really. Ain’t nothin’ complicated about it. Just a man and his dogs, livin’ the good life. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, don’t it? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed my own dog. He’s been lookin’ at me with those puppy dog eyes, and I can’t say no to that.
