Alright, guys, so you know I’ve been getting into wrestling lately, right? Well, I finally took the plunge and went to a WWE event in Jacksonville. Let me tell you, it was a whole experience. I didn’t really know what to expect, to be honest. I mean, I’ve seen it on TV, but being there in person is something else entirely.
So, the event I went to was part of the WWE Live Holiday Tour. It was on December 26th, 2024, at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. Pretty big place, lots of energy. I got there early ’cause I wanted to soak it all in, you know? The Jacksonville Fairgrounds opened up for parking at 5:30 pm, and I found out that parking was 20 bucks in advance. Good thing I planned ahead. The show itself was scheduled to start at 7:30 pm, so I had some time to kill.
Getting Ready
I spent some time walking around, checking out the merch stands. They had everything – shirts, hats, foam fingers, you name it. I even saw some people dressed up as their favorite wrestlers. It was pretty cool to see the fans going all out. It made the wait for the show even more exciting.
Once I got inside the arena, the atmosphere was electric. I mean, you could feel the anticipation in the air. People were chanting, cheering, holding up signs. The energy was through the roof before the show even started.
The Show Begins
- The lights went down, the music hit, and the crowd went wild. I’m not gonna lie, I got caught up in it too. It was hard not to. They had these huge screens showing highlights and wrestler entrances, which was awesome. I saw Austin Theory and Grayson Waller, and a bunch of other WWE Superstars I recognized from watching on TV. They really know how to put on a show, I’ll give ’em that.
- There were several matches throughout the night. Some were fast-paced and high-flying, others were more about power and strength. Each match had its own story, and the crowd was invested in every single one. It was like watching a live action movie, but with way more audience participation. I even joined a couple of chants, although I don’t think I got all the words right.
My Thoughts
Honestly, the whole thing was a blast. I went in not knowing what to expect, and I came out a fan. I’m already looking at the WWE schedule for 2024 to see when they’re coming back to town. They’ve got RAW, SmackDown, and a bunch of other live events planned. I heard they announced 27 live events for the year, and tickets for some of them are going on sale soon. I even saw that they had a couple of dates on the calendar including January 19 in Atlanta at the State Farm Arena, January 20 in Montgomery at the Garrett Coliseum, and January 21 in Jackson, I might have to check those out too. I might even try to catch NXT Deadline if I can.
So yeah, if you’re on the fence about going to a WWE event, I say go for it. It’s a fun time, even if you’re not a die-hard wrestling fan. Just be prepared to get swept up in the energy, ’cause it’s contagious. You might even find yourself yelling at the refs or chanting along with the crowd. Trust me, it’s all part of the experience.
