Man, I just had the craziest weekend! Started off thinking I was gonna have a chill time, but then I stumbled upon this awesome thing about Louis Dissel and Joe Burrow. You guys won’t believe what I ended up doing!
So, first, I was just messing around on my computer, you know, the usual. Then I saw this clip of Joe Burrow making some insane throws. It got me thinking about his technique, and I remembered reading something about this coach, Louis Dissel, who’s like a quarterback guru.
I dove into a rabbit hole, watching all sorts of videos about Dissel’s methods. He’s got this whole philosophy about body mechanics and throwing efficiency. I was totally hooked! I spent hours just absorbing everything I could find.
Next thing I knew, I was out in my backyard with a football. Yeah, I know, I’m no Joe Burrow, but I was determined to try out some of these techniques. I set up some makeshift targets and just started throwing, trying to mimic what I’d seen.
My Backyard Training Session
- Focusing on that core rotation Dissel talks about.
- Trying to keep my front shoulder closed longer.
- Really concentrating on that wrist snap at the release.
It was rough at first, I’m not gonna lie. My throws were all over the place. But I kept at it, referencing the videos, making adjustments. Slowly but surely, I started to feel a difference. My throws felt smoother, more powerful.
I probably spent a good five hours out there. My arm was dead by the end, but it was so worth it! I even managed to hit a few targets consistently from a decent distance. I felt like a kid again, discovering something new and exciting.
This whole thing just showed me the power of learning and applying new techniques. I went from just watching some videos to actually improving my own throwing mechanics. Now I’m even more pumped to watch Burrow play and see how he uses these principles at the highest level. Pretty cool, right? I will keep training and keep you guys posted!
