Okay, so the other day I was messing around trying to compare Drew Brees and Josh Allen. It’s something I’ve been thinking about, and I figured I’d finally just dive in and see what I could find. I wanted to look at their stats, styles, everything, side-by-side. Kind of a fun little project.

Getting Started
First thing I did was just pull up their basic stats. You know, the usual stuff – career passing yards, touchdowns, interceptions, completion percentage. I just went to a couple of different sports websites, copy and pasted the data tables into a spreadsheet.
Digging Deeper
But just the basic numbers, that wasn’t enough. I wanted to see how they performed year-by-year, too. So, I went back and grabbed their individual season stats. More copying, more pasting, started to make some simple charts in my spreadsheet program.
- Copied career stats tables
- Pasted into a spreadsheet
- Repeated for individual season stats
- Made some basic charts.
Adding Some Context
Then, I remembered that numbers don’t tell the whole story. So I tried to find some articles, game recaps, maybe some old highlight videos. Just wanted to remind myself of how they played, not just the raw data. This part was more about watching and reading, taking some notes on things that stood * Brees’s precision and command in the pocket, and Allen’s huge arm and ability to run.
Putting It All Together
Finally, I just took all my notes, the stats, the charts, everything, and started writing it all down. I jotted down some main points and then a * wasn’t anything fancy, just my thoughts and observations, comparing the two quarterbacks.
The final result isn’t any kind of professional analysis, its my view. But it was fun to do, and it actually helped me understand both players a little better. It’s always cool to combine the numbers with the actual “eye test” of watching them play.
