Well, ain’t this somethin’. You wanna know about this Jung Hoo Lee fella in that MLB The Show 23? Never played no video games myself, reckon they’re for young folks, but I hear tell it’s like a real baseball game on your TV. Anyways, they put this Lee boy in the game, and folks are gettin’ all riled up about it.
Now, I ain’t got no clue what all them numbers and fancy terms mean, like “attributes” and “quirks.” Sounds like some city slicker stuff to me. But I reckon it’s gotta do with how good he hits the ball and catches it. They say he’s a real good player, this Lee. Started makin’ a name for himself in that World Baseball Classic. Don’t rightly know what that is either, but it sounds important.
- They got his price in there too, whatever that means in a video game. Guess you gotta buy him or somethin’? Like buyin’ a new plow for the farm, huh? Only difference is, you ain’t gonna be plowin’ no fields with this Lee fella.
- People keep askin’ if he’s in the “roster update.” Sounds like they keep changin’ the players in the game. Reminds me of changin’ the tires on the tractor. Gotta keep things up to date, I suppose.
I seen some fellas talkin’ about startin’ a “franchise” with this Lee boy. Sounds fancy, but I reckon it just means they wanna make a team with him on it. Like buildin’ a new henhouse, gotta put all the right pieces together. They say he ain’t showin’ up for some folks when they try to start, though. Maybe he’s lost in the digital cornfield or somethin’.
Then there’s all this talk about his “stats” and “height” and “weight.” Well, I reckon he’s a tall fella, seein’ as how he’s a baseball player. They gotta be tall to reach them fly balls, ain’t that right? And them stats? Guess it’s just numbers showin’ how good he is. Like countin’ how many eggs the hens lay in a week.
Now, they finally put him in the game, this MLB The Show 24. Took ’em long enough, seems like. Folks was gettin’ impatient, like waitin’ for the rain to come in a dry spell. But he’s in there now, and everybody’s happy as a pig in mud.
This game, it’s on all them fancy new machines. Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox… sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me. Back in my day, we played catch with a ball of yarn and a stick. But times change, I suppose. These young folks like their gadgets.
This Lee fella, he’s somethin’ special, they say. A “breakout star.” Like findin’ a ripe watermelon in the patch. Sweet and juicy. And he’s got a “card” too, with all them fancy numbers on it. Reminds me of tradin’ baseball cards when I was a kid. Cept these cards are all on the computer, ain’t that somethin’?
Well, that’s about all I got to say about this Jung Hoo Lee in MLB The Show 23, or 24, or whatever it is. Sounds like a good player, and folks are excited to have him in the game. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed the chickens. Them hens don’t care about no video games, they just want their corn.
