Okay, so today I messed around with something called “Keys Navarro.” I’d heard about it before, but never really dug in. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. It is a method for figuring out musical keys, from what I understand.

Getting Started
First, I went online and did some looking around to get a handle on things. I found a few different charts and explanations, some of which were, honestly, a little confusing.
Trying it Out
Here’s what I did:
- I picked a few songs that I already knew the chords to. Nothing too crazy, just some basic stuff.
- I used it to write down notes.
- I check the notes I have and found some rules.
Making Sense of It
After playing around for a bit, I think I started to get the hang of it. At least, I could kind of see how the patterns worked. It’s not like magic, but it does seem like a useful way to organize things. For example, I could start to see how certain chords kept showing up together, and how that related to the key.
My Takeaway
I’m definitely not an expert yet. I’d need to spend a lot more time with this to really feel comfortable. But I can see how it could be helpful, especially for songwriting or figuring out solos. It’s like having a little map of the musical landscape, which is pretty cool.
I think I’ll keep practicing with this and see if I can get better at it. It’s always fun to learn a new way of thinking about music!
