Okay, so I saw this thing online about Killian Hayes and whether he’s a bust or not. I got curious and decided to do a little digging myself. First, I pulled up his stats from his rookie season. You know, points, assists, rebounds, the usual stuff. It wasn’t pretty, I gotta say. He was struggling to score, and his shooting percentages were, well, let’s just say they weren’t great.
Next, I started watching some of his game highlights. I wanted to see if the stats matched the eye test. I watched a bunch of games from his first couple of seasons. Honestly, he looked a bit lost out there at times. His shot was inconsistent, and he seemed to be forcing things a bit. But I also saw flashes of potential. He’s got good size for a point guard, and he can make some nice passes when he’s on.
Then I went year by year. I looked at how his stats changed from his rookie year to his second season. There was some improvement, sure, but it wasn’t a huge jump. He was still struggling to shoot the ball efficiently. I did see he was trying to use his height more to take shots, and using his handle to move around in the perimeter.
Delving Deeper
- Checked out some scouting reports from when he was drafted.
- Compared him to other point guards drafted around the same time.
- Looked at how the Pistons were doing as a team. Were they winning? Was he a big part of that?
After doing all this, I compared him to some other point guards who were drafted around the same time. How were they doing? Were they lighting it up? Some were, some weren’t. It’s tough to say if he’s worse than them, but he definitely hasn’t popped like some of the other guys.
Finally, I tried to look at the bigger picture. How were the Pistons doing as a team? Were they winning games? Was Hayes a big part of their success or failure? They weren’t exactly setting the world on fire, and it’s hard to say that Hayes was the main reason why. He’s been struggling to shoot the ball, and this is a big issue as a point guard.
So, is Killian Hayes a bust? It’s still too early to say for sure, I guess. He hasn’t lived up to the hype yet, that’s for sure. But he’s still young, and he’s shown some potential. I guess only time will tell if he can turn things around. It’s not lookin’ great, but hey, who knows, maybe he can pull a rabbit outta the hat, or maybe even a jump shot.
