So, I was flipping channels the other day, just killing some time, you know how it is. Landed on something with Deion Sanders, Coach Prime. Noticed his shirt, or maybe it was a hoodie, had “JC” printed on it. Pretty prominent.

My first thought was, okay, what’s “JC”? Is it his own brand? Initials for something related to Jackson State, maybe? Or Colorado? My mind started guessing. You see these letters on stuff all the time now, could be anything. Maybe some sponsor I wasn’t familiar with. It kinda bugged me, like an itch I couldn’t scratch. I remember spending way too long once trying to figure out a tiny logo on some athlete’s gear years ago, drove me nuts until I found it.
So, I did what anyone does, pulled out my phone and typed it in. Took a minute, sifting through stuff. Lots of people asking the same thing, apparently. It wasn’t some super complicated thing, though.
Turns out, JC stands for Jesus Christ. Simple as that.
Honestly, I kinda paused for a second. Wasn’t expecting something so… direct, I guess. It’s pretty bold, putting that right out there, front and center, especially in the whole sports media world. You don’t always see faith displayed so openly like that. It got me thinking, not necessarily about religion itself, but just about making statements. What people choose to put on display.
It’s a strong message, plain and clear. Made me think about my old neighbor, Mr. Henderson, always wore a particular old baseball cap, rain or shine. Never asked him what it meant, but you knew it meant something important to him. Seeing that “JC” felt similar in a way – just a person putting what they stand for out in the open. Interesting choice, definitely caught my eye and made me look it up.
