Okay, so, I stumbled upon something pretty interesting the other day while I was going through some old files, and I just had to share it with you all. It involves Hannah Stuelke, you know, that awesome basketball player from the Iowa Hawkeyes? Well, turns out her folks were also pretty into basketball back in the day!
So, I started digging into it, and guess what I found? Hannah’s mom, JoAnna Stuelke Mantz, actually signed to play basketball at Illinois State in 1996! Can you believe it? She was a player too, and a pretty good one, standing tall at 6’1″. I got so excited when I discovered this I just had to share it.
- First, I came across some information about Hannah, who’s been killing it on the court, averaging 14.1 points and 6.7 rebounds in her junior year. Impressive, right?
- Then, I got curious about her parents and did a little research. That’s when I found out about her mom’s basketball past.
- Next, I started searching for more details about JoAnna and her time at Illinois State.
- Finally, I connected the dots and realized that basketball talent runs in the family!
It’s just so cool to see how parents’ passions can influence their kids. And to think, I just randomly found out about all this while I was archiving some old footage. Small world, huh? Anyway, I thought it was worth sharing. It really makes you appreciate Hannah’s journey even more, knowing that she’s carrying on a family legacy. I ended up spending the whole afternoon looking for more stuff. It’s amazing when you find yourself down a rabbit hole right?
And her dad, Mario Davis, was a baller, too. How cool is that? Like, imagine growing up with two parents who were both into hoops. Must have been some intense family games! I also tried to look for Hannah’s siblings but there was not much I could find, but man, it would be wild if they played too!
Anyway, I just thought it was a fun little discovery. You know, it’s not every day you find out that a rising star’s parents were athletes themselves. I always enjoy knowing the history of these things, it feels like it puts things into perspective if you know what I mean?
