Alright, so you wanna know about this Matt Snell fella, the baseball pitcher? Okay, okay, I’ll tell ya what I know. He’s one of them fellers who throws the ball real hard, you know? Like, real, real hard. They say he’s got a strong arm, a real strong arm. That’s what they all say, anyhow.
Now, this arm strength, it ain’t just for show, see? It’s what makes the ball go all wonky and fast. Makes it hard for them fellers with the bats to hit it, I reckon. And it ain’t just about throwin’ hard, it’s about throwin’ it where you want it to go. Gotta get it in that little… uh… strike zone, they call it. He’s good at that, this Snell fella. Real good, from what I hear.
They say he’s got a bunch of different ways he throws the ball. Four different ways, I think. And that fastball of his? Whew! It goes zoomin’ in there at like, ninety-somethin’ miles an hour. That’s fast, real fast. Faster than my grandson’s little scooter, I tell ya!
This fella, he’s won some kinda fancy award, twice even! Cy Young, they call it. Sounds like somethin’ my chickens would do in the yard, but I guess it’s a big deal in baseball. He’s one of only a few fellers to win it in both leagues, whatever that means. He won it with the Rays once, and then again with… uh… I think it was the Giants? Yeah, somethin’ like that.
- He throws the ball real hard.
- He’s got a strong arm.
- He can make the ball go where he wants it.
- He’s got four different pitches.
- He won a big award twice.
And get this, they say he strikes out a whole lotta fellers. Like, more than anyone else in baseball history, or somethin’ like that. Eleven point somethin’ strikeouts every nine innings. That’s a lot of fellers sittin’ down, I tell ya. They just swing and miss, swing and miss. Makes you wonder if they even see the ball sometimes!
Now, he had some trouble with gettin’ hurt, this fella. Had to take some time off, twice even. But when he came back, oh boy, he was somethin’ else. They said he was the best pitcher in baseball, just mowin’ down them hitters left and right. Six games in a row, he was just… unstoppable, I guess you could say.
He went and signed with the Giants, see? They wanted a good pitcher, and they got themselves one. One of the best, they say. Cost ‘em a pretty penny, I bet. But that’s how it goes in baseball, these fellers make big money. More money than I’ll ever see in my lifetime, that’s for sure.
He’s got some kinda… uh… unique way of pitchin’, they say. I don’t know what that means, but it seems to work for him. He’s got confidence, that’s for sure. You gotta have confidence in this game, I reckon. If you don’t believe in yourself, who will?
And look at this, this fella’s gonna be a daddy! He’s excited about it, they say. Well, that’s nice. Babies are a blessin’, even if they do keep you up all night cryin’. But that’s a whole ‘nother story.
All these smart fellers with their numbers and such, they say he’s really good. Elite, they call it. I guess that means he’s top-notch, the cream of the crop. And it ain’t just one thing, it’s everything he does. He’s just… good. Plain and simple.
Even them Yankees, they were talkin’ about him. Wanted to sign him, maybe? Who knows. These baseball teams, they’re always wheelin’ and dealin’, tryin’ to get the best players. It’s a business, you know? A big, big business.
So, that’s what I know about this Matt Snell fella. He throws hard, he wins awards, he strikes out a lot of fellers, and he’s gonna be a daddy. He’s one of them baseball stars, I guess. And that’s all there is to it.
