Okay, so I wanted to get my prediction down for the Mavericks vs. Jazz game. I’ve been following both teams pretty closely this season, and I figured I’d walk you through my whole process.

First, I pulled up the recent game stats for both teams. I just used a basic sports stats website, nothing fancy. Gotta see how they’ve been performing lately, right? I focused on the last 5-10 games for each, trying to get a feel for their current form.
I then looked at the scoring averages, focusing on points for and points against. Simple stuff really. I’ve tried to get into all the super advanced stats before, but honestly, sometimes the basics tell you a lot.
Checking the Player Status
- I checked for any injuries or suspensions.
- I always look at the star players first, you know, the guys who can really change a game.
- Then I go through the rest of the roster to see if any key role players were out.
Next, I try to find any “expert” predictions. I figure these guys watch a lot more basketball than I do, so their opinions, while not always right, might give me some insight.
I also checked where they play, The home-court advantage is a real thing in basketball. I am always checking the data and try to combine the data.
Finally, I combined all the data together, and created my own prediction to share with you.
This is my prediction process, it’s not rocket science, but it’s how I go about making my picks. Hopefully, this gives you a little peek behind the curtain!
