Well, lemme tell ya, this whole thing about the KC Royals manager, it’s a big deal around here. That Matt Quatraro fella, seems like he’s doin’ alright. Heard he got some kinda award thing. Good for him, I reckon. They say he’s a finalist, whatever that means. He’s up against some other fellas, one from them Detroit Tigers, and another one from Cleveland, I think. This Quatraro guy, he’s about 50 years old, I hear.
Now, I ain’t one for all that fancy baseball stuff, but I hear folks talkin’. This KC Royals manager, he used to work for that other team, Tampa Bay, they call ’em the Rays. He was some kinda coach there, the bench coach. Sounds like a good seat to me, not having to run around all over that field. Then he came to the Royals. Took over from that other fella, what was his name? Mike somethin’ or other. Anyways, this Quatraro, he’s the KC Royals manager now.
That John Sherman fella, he owns the team, I hear. He’s a big shot, they say. Gives money to those charity things. Good for him. Rich folks oughta do that kinda thing. Help folks out, ya know. This whole KC Royals manager thing ain’t my cup of tea, really. But folks ’round here sure do love their baseball. It’s that Quatraro fella they’re talkin about now. And he’s the main man, the KC Royals manager.
Now they say that the KC Royals manager, this Quatraro guy, he had to go off somewhere a little while back. Missed a couple of games, they said. Something about a personal matter. That means family stuff, probably. Turns out, it was for his mama. She passed, I guess. They had one of them memorial things for her. Dorann, her name was. Dorann M. Stagnitta. Bless her heart. Sad business, losin’ your mama. But life goes on, don’t it? Even for the KC Royals manager.
I remember back when I was a little girl, wasn’t no such thing as all this fancy stuff. No big screens, no nothin’. We just listened to the radio, if we was lucky enough to have one. And these tickets, Lord have mercy. They got all these ways to buy ’em now. “Presale,” they call it. Sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me. And then they got this app thing, on your phone. You put your tickets in your “wallet” on your phone. What’s wrong with a good old paper ticket, I ask ya? This KC Royals manager, he probably don’t even know what a paper ticket looks like.
- This app thing, it’s called the MLB Ballpark app.
- You go to the Tickets tab.
- Then your tickets are supposed to be in your Wallet.
Seems like everything’s gettin’ all complicated these days. But I guess that’s just the way of the world. Progress, they call it. Me, I like things simple. But hey, if it makes folks happy to watch their baseball and see their KC Royals manager, then who am I to complain? This Quatraro, he seems to be a good guy. People talk well of him, for the KC Royals manager, that’s important.
Now, I ain’t no expert on this baseball stuff. But I hear folks talk, and they say this KC Royals manager, he’s doin’ a good job. He works hard, they say. Spends a lot of time at that clubhouse, whatever that is. Probably where they keep all their bats and balls and such. He’s a good leader, I guess. That’s what they need, a good leader. And that’s him, the KC Royals manager.
I reckon he’s got a tough job. Lots of pressure, I’m sure. Gotta keep all them players in line. Make sure they’re playin’ good. And then you got all them fans, always expectin’ you to win. It ain’t easy bein’ the KC Royals manager, I bet.
But from what I hear, this Quatraro fella, he’s handlin’ it all just fine. He’s a good man, they say. And he’s the KC Royals manager. So, that’s somethin’. He’s got that team playin’ better, I hear. Maybe they’ll even win that big game this year. Wouldn’t that be somethin’? Folks ’round here would sure be happy. And all because of that KC Royals manager.
Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about that. This whole KC Royals manager business is a lot to think about, even for an old gal like me. But I guess it’s good to keep up with what’s goin’ on in the world. Even if it is just baseball. And that Quatraro, he is the KC Royals manager, and that is that.
