Okay, so I gotta share this whole thing about Molly Davis. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster, let me tell you. I’ve been following her since she started, and it’s been quite the journey.
First off, when I heard about her injury, I was like, “No way, not Molly!” She was playing for the Iowa Hawkeyes, and things were looking good. It all started when she was playing against Ohio State. She went down, and it looked bad. Like, really bad. I saw her in that wheelchair later, and my heart just sank. She seemed to have hurt her knee.
So, I started digging around, trying to find out what happened. Turns out, it wasn’t an ACL tear, thank goodness. But they called it a “severe injury to the kneecap”. Whatever that means, it was enough to keep her out of the Big Ten Tournament. I was bummed, not gonna lie. She had been killing it, averaging 6.1 points and 3.1 assists per game. Solid numbers, you know? She started most of the games, 27 out of 30, so she was a big part of the team. It was a big loss to her team.
- Injury Happened: During the game against Ohio State.
- Diagnosis: Severe injury to the kneecap, not an ACL tear.
- Immediate Impact: Missed the Big Ten Tournament.
Then, there was this little bit of hope. Coach Lisa Bluder mentioned something about Molly maybe coming back for the Final Four against UConn. I got all excited, thinking, “Yes! She’s gonna make it!” I mean, who wouldn’t want her on the court? I was checking every day for updates, hoping to see her name in the lineup.
But, it didn’t happen. She didn’t play. I was pretty disappointed, but hey, health comes first, right? It must have been tough for her, watching from the sidelines. Especially after being such a key player all season. But, I really admire her spirit. She was always cheering on her team, being a good sport about it.
What I Learned
This whole Molly Davis situation reminded me that sports can be unpredictable. One minute you’re on top, the next you’re dealing with an injury. I started looking at some other information about her. Apparently, she used to play for Central Michigan. If she had stayed, she would have been a big star there. Makes you wonder what could have been, huh?
Anyway, I’m just hoping she recovers fully and gets back to playing soon. I’ll be watching out for her, that’s for sure. She’s got the talent and the heart of a champion. And I’m sure all of her fans are waiting for her comeback, too. I just hope she takes her time to fully recover and not rush back before she’s ready. Go, Molly!
