Alright, let’s talk about these football fellas, the cornerbacks, you know, the ones who try to stop the other guys from catching the ball. Now, I heard some folks sayin’ somethin’ about “white corners” in the NFL. Don’t rightly know why it matters what color they are, but I guess some people get worked up about these things. Seems like there ain’t been many of ’em for a long time.
The White Cornerback Mystery
I heard tell that way back when, like in the olden days, there used to be more fellas with lighter skin playin’ cornerback. But then, somethin’ happened, and they kinda disappeared. Don’t ask me why, I ain’t no expert on nothin’. Just tellin’ ya what I heard. They say it’s been since, oh, I dunno, maybe the nineties or early two thousands since a white fella was a regular starter at that cornerback spot.
Now, they’re jabberin’ about some new fellas. Heard names like Riley Moss, plays for them Broncos, and Cooper somethin’-or-other with the Eagles, and another one, Ethan Bonner, with the Dolphins. People are makin’ a big fuss, sayin’ if these boys all make it, it’ll be a whole bunch of white cornerbacks, more than they seen in a long, long time.
- Riley Moss (Broncos)
- Cooper DeJean (Eagles)
- Ethan Bonner (Dolphins)
They’re sayin’ these fellas could be somethin’ special. I reckon it takes a lot of grit and gumption to play that position, no matter what color your skin is. You gotta be quick, gotta be tough, and you gotta be smart. These fellas must have somethin’ goin’ for ’em if folks are talkin’ about ’em like this.
A Bit of History, They Say
I also heard about a fella named Kevin somethin’-or-other, played for them Bengals a while back. They say he was the last white fella to start regular at cornerback, but that was a long time ago. After a while, they moved him to safety, whatever that is. Sounds like a less important job to me, but what do I know?
Then there was another one, Jason Sehorn, played for the New York Giants. They said he caught the ball, intercepted it they call it, back in 2002. And now, this young fella Riley Moss, he done the same thing. People got all excited, sayin’ he’s the first white cornerback to do that in all these years. Lordy, seems like folks make a big deal outta the littlest things sometimes.
The Big Names in Cornerbackin’
Now, when you talk about cornerbacks, most folks talk about fellas like Patrick Surtain the second, and Jalen Ramsey, and Sauce Gardner. These boys are supposed to be the best of the best, real stars. They don’t say much about their color, just that they’re good at what they do. That’s how it should be, I reckon. Judge a man by his actions, not by the color of his skin.
What’s All the Fuss About?
So, I guess the big question is, why all the fuss about these white cornerbacks? I ain’t got a clue. Maybe it’s just somethin’ different, somethin’ people ain’t used to seein’. Maybe it’s ’cause it’s been so long since there were a bunch of ’em. Whatever the reason, folks are talkin’, and that’s a fact.
It’s All About Playin’ Ball
At the end of the day, it don’t matter to me what color a fella is. If he can play ball, he can play ball. That’s all there is to it. These young fellas, Riley and Cooper and Ethan, they got a chance to prove themselves. They got a chance to show the world what they can do. And if they’re good enough, they’ll make it, no matter what anybody says.
Final Thoughts
So, there you have it. That’s what I heard about these white cornerbacks in the NFL. It’s a whole lot of talkin’, but in the end, it all comes down to playin’ the game. And may the best man win, no matter what color he is. That’s what I always say.
Gettin’ Ready for the Season
From what I hear they’ve been practicin’ a lot, runnin’ around and catchin’ balls. Seems like a lot of work, but I guess that’s what it takes to be a professional athlete. They gotta be in tip-top shape if they wanna compete with the best. I hope they all do well, and I hope they stay healthy. That’s the most important thing.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my biscuits.
