Okay, so I was trying to kill some time today and I thought, why not try a crossword? I’ve always seen those brainy types doing them, so I wanted to give it a shot. I searched for “put forth crossword” to, you know, find some clues or maybe a definition, something to get me started.

First, I grabbed a pen and some paper, ’cause that’s how you do it, right? Old school. Then I opened up a crossword puzzle online. I’m staring at all these empty squares and the clues, and my brain just froze. Seriously, I had no idea where to even begin.
I started reading through the clues, looking for something, anything that I might know. Some of them were super cryptic, like riddles wrapped in another riddle. Others were surprisingly simple, like everyday words, so I put some words that I am familiar with.
- I focused on the shorter words first. I figured those would be easier to crack.
- I also looked for any clues that were fill-in-the-blanks, because those seemed less intimidating.
- After filling a letter, I found that it’s getting easier and easier.
My Little Achievements
After staring at the puzzle and keep trying for a good while, I actually managed to fill in a few words! It was a total rush. I felt like a genius, even though it was probably just luck. I’m not gonna lie, it was pretty satisfying to see those blank squares get filled in.
I wouldn’t say I’m a crossword master now, or anything like that. It was hard! But it was also kind of fun, in a challenging way. And It’s fun to put words forth to a crossword.
