Well now, if ya wanna hear a bit about this Erica Stoll, she’s been through quite a bit, hasn’t she? First off, she’s from Irondequoit, New York, a place I reckon ain’t too far from where all the hustle and bustle is. Now, this gal, she was a real go-getter in high school, playin’ tennis and all that. I’ve heard tell that she was quite the player back then. Not many folks around here can say that, but she sure had the talent. It ain’t like the rest of us, just sittin’ around at home, right?
Now, this fella, Rory McIlroy, he’s a big name in golf, sure as sugar. Ya can’t miss him if ya watch any of them golf tournaments. The two of ’em crossed paths back in 2012 during the Ryder Cup, and I reckon that’s when they first met. Now, mind ya, at that time, Erica was still workin’ for the PGA, a big ol’ company that does all sorts of things for golf, like runnin’ them big tournaments. She was just doin’ her thing, like most folks do. Can’t say she was lookin’ for a big ol’ golf star to come sweep her off her feet, but things turned out that way, didn’t they?
By 2017, they tied the knot. Seven years of marriage, so they say. Of course, just like any couple, there’s a bit of trouble now and then. I ain’t one to gossip, but there were rumors floatin’ around that Rory filed for divorce not too long ago, back in 2024. Seemed like a real mess at first. Folks were sayin’ they were done for good. But wouldn’t ya know it, they decided to call it all off. Less than a month later, they dropped the divorce papers and got back together. Kinda makes ya think, don’t it? How folks can go through a lot, but then turn around and work things out somehow.
Now, as far as what Erica does for work, well, she was busy with the PGA, like I mentioned. She was the office manager, and also helped out with the championship volunteer operations. Sounds like a lotta work, doesn’t it? I’m sure she kept busy with that while Rory was off chasin’ trophies. Must’ve been a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it, right?
The couple has a little one, a daughter, from what I hear. Name’s Poppy. Cute name, don’t ya think? I remember hearin’ folks talk about how Rory picked it out. He said they really loved the name, and it just kinda fit. Ain’t it somethin’ how names can mean so much? Seems like they got a little bundle of joy in the middle of all the drama. That’s somethin’ to hold on to, for sure.
But ya know, it’s a bit like the rest of us, isn’t it? People go through their ups and downs, their happy times and sad times. And it don’t matter if you’re a golfer or just a regular ol’ person from the country, life’s got its twists and turns. This Erica and Rory, they’re just like anyone else, tryin’ to make it work, tryin’ to figure things out. We all do it in our own way, don’t we?
In the end, they seem to have found their way back to each other, after all the mess was made. Maybe that’s what counts. Who knows what’ll happen down the road, but for now, it seems like they’ve got things figured out. And sometimes, that’s all you can ask for, isn’t it?
