Alright, let’s talk about this here baseball, the Atlanta Braves and them Los Angeles Dodgers. You know, the game where they hit the ball and run around. I don’t know all them fancy words, but I can tell ya who’s been hittin’ good and who ain’t.
So, these two teams, the Braves and the Dodgers, they been goin’ at it. Atlanta Braves vs Dodgers match player stats, that’s what they call it. Sounds all highfalutin, but it just means who’s been doin’ what on the field. They play each other regular season, playoffs, sometimes even for the whole shebang, the championship.
Now, let’s get to the hittin’. They got this “battin’ stats” thing. That’s just how good they hit the ball, see? Like, how many times they hit it far enough to run to second base, they call that “2B”, and Freddie Freeman, he got 10 of them. Good for him! And then there’s the home runs, “HR” they call it. Teoscar Hernandez, he whacked 7 outta the park. That boy’s strong, I tell ya.
- Freddie Freeman: 10 doubles (2B)
- Teoscar Hernandez: 7 home runs (HR)
They played a game back on September 16th, Dodgers against the Braves. They got all these numbers, “box scores” they call ’em. Tells ya who did what. But honestly, it’s all a bunch of numbers to me. I just watch if they hit the ball good or not.
Then there was this other game, Game 3 they said, at Truist Park, that’s where the Braves play. Charlie Morton, he was pitchin’ for the Braves. Pitchin’ is when they throw the ball, tryin’ to make the other fella miss. It’s important, but hittin’ is more fun to watch.
People like to talk about who’s better, the Braves or the Dodgers. They look at all them stats, tryin’ to figure it out. But sometimes, it’s just luck, you know? One day you hit good, the next day you don’t. That’s baseball for ya.
I heard about this Chris Sale fella, plays for the Braves I think. He pitched real good one time, only let the other team score one run and struck out a bunch of them Dodgers fellas, even that Shohei Ohtani fella everyone talks about. Struck him out, they said. Good for Chris!
They also played a game at Dodger Stadium, that’s where the Dodgers play, back in October 2021. They call it “matchups” when they talk about who’s playin’ who. Like, who’s pitchin’ against who’s hittin’. It’s important, I guess, but like I said, I just like watching them swing the bat.
So, when you look at these Atlanta Braves vs Dodgers match player stats, you see all sorts of numbers. But what it really comes down to is this: Can they hit the ball? Can they catch the ball? Can they run fast? That’s what wins you games, not all them fancy numbers. Though, I guess the numbers tell you who’s been doin’ those things good.
And don’t forget, baseball is a long season. Just because you win one game doesn’t mean you’ll win the next. You gotta keep hittin’ and catchin’ and runnin’. And sometimes, even that ain’t enough. Sometimes, it’s just plain luck.
Key players, they call ’em. The fellas who hit the ball far, or pitch it real good. They’re important, sure, but it takes a whole team to win. Can’t just have one fella doin’ it all. Everybody gotta do their part.
And this whole thing about “regular season” and “playoffs”? Well, regular season is like the practice, I guess. And then the playoffs is when it really matters. That’s when they fightin’ for the championship. And that’s when you see the best baseball, the most excitin’ games.
So, there ya have it. My take on the Braves and the Dodgers. I might not know all the fancy terms, but I know a good hit when I see one. And that’s what matters, ain’t it? Just watchin’ them fellas play ball. It’s a good way to spend an afternoon, I tell ya.
They are playing at Truist Park on October 16. I hope it is a good game!
