Okay, so I’ve been meaning to write about this for a while. I finally got myself a pair of spikeless golf shoes, and they’re white! Yeah, I know, keeping them clean is gonna be a pain, but they just look so darn good.
I did a bit of digging before I bought them. Seems like more and more pros are going spikeless these days, though some still stick with the old-school metal spikes. I guess it comes down to personal preference and where you’re playing. Like, if you’re always on wet or hilly courses, spikes might be better. But for me, I mostly play in pretty dry and flat conditions, so I figured spikeless would work just fine. Plus, they’re supposed to be more comfortable.
I ended up going with the Adidas Tech Response ones. They were the best spikeless ones I could find and the price wasn’t too crazy. And man, they really are comfy. Felt great walking around in them all day. No slipping or anything, even on some of the steeper parts of the course.
My Cleaning Plan
- First thing: Try to avoid getting them super dirty in the first place. I know, easier said than done, but I’m gonna try to be extra careful.
- Cleaning after every round: Gonna give them a quick wipe down with a damp cloth after each round. Hopefully that’ll keep the dirt from building up too much.
- Deep cleaning: When they do get really dirty, I found out that warm soapy water and a soft sponge should do the trick. Just gotta be gentle and make sure I get all the gunk off. Dish soap is fine it said.
So far, so good. I’ve only worn them a few times, but they still look pretty fresh. We’ll see how they hold up over time, but I’m optimistic. I mean, white shoes always look good, right? It’s just a matter of putting in the effort to keep them that way. I’ll keep you guys updated on how the cleaning goes. Maybe I’ll even post some before-and-after pics. Wish me luck!
Anyway, that’s my little adventure with my new white spikeless golf shoes. It’s a small thing, but it’s made my golfing experience a bit more enjoyable. And hey, looking good on the course never hurts, right?
