Okay, so today I decided to mess around with Taysom Hill in my fantasy football league. I’ve always thought he was an interesting player, a real Swiss Army knife, you know? Quarterback, running back, receiver, tight end – the guy does it all. I wanted to see if I could actually make him a viable starter.

The Experiment Begins
First, I checked my league settings. Luckily my commish is pretty flexible, so Hill was eligible at multiple positions. This was key. If he was just a QB, this whole thing would be a lot tougher.
Next, I looked at his recent stats. He’s been getting more snaps at tight end lately, and his rushing numbers are always pretty solid. That got me thinking… could I use him as a flex play, maybe even a TE1?
Diving into the Numbers
I spent some time crunching numbers. I compared his projected points to other available tight ends and flex options on the waiver wire. It was close, I’m not gonna lie. But there was something about Hill’s potential that just grabbed me. He’s a boom-or-bust kind of player, and I was feeling risky.
- Considered the matchup: Who were the Saints playing? Were they facing a weak defense against tight ends or running backs?
- Watched some game film: How was Hill being used in the offense? Was he getting red-zone targets? Carries near the goal line?
Making the Decision
After all that research, I decided to go for it. I dropped a bench player – some receiver who probably wouldn’t see the field anyway – and picked up Taysom Hill. Then came the hard part: actually putting him in my starting lineup.
I agonized over it for a bit. Should I start him at TE? Flex? QB? (Okay, maybe not QB, but it crossed my mind!). Finally, I slotted him in at tight end. It felt right. It felt… bold.
The Results
So, how did it go? Honestly It was exciting at first. Hill got an early touchdown reception. He made many impressive runs! He had been showing great athleticism, but in the last quarter he was not good. The scores were few.
But it’s a gamble, I had to start somewhere, and will try it again!
