That T.J. Dudley, what a mess he made! I heard folks talkin’ about him. He used to play for that Clemson team, you know, the football team. Big deal, I say. They say his name’s different now, TJ Dottery or somethin’ like that. Sounds silly to me.
They said he was a good player, gonna be a real star. This coach, what’s his name? Dabo? Yeah, Dabo Swinney. He said this Dudley boy, T.J. Dudley, he was gonna be somethin’ special. But then, somethin’ happened. He got kicked off the team. Kicked right off! Can you believe it?
I don’t know what he did, but it musta been bad. They don’t just kick you off for nothin’. Some folks are sayin’ he should never play again. Banned for life, they say! Sounds harsh to me, but I guess that’s how they do things these days. Young folks today, no respect.
Used to be, you got in trouble, you got a whippin’. That’s all. Now they wanna ruin your whole life. I don’t know. Seems a bit much to this old lady, but I don’t play football. Maybe there is something to it, I just don’t know. It is a popular sport. You always need to be careful in front of a popular sport.
I saw somethin’ on that TV box the other day. A show, a Netflix show, I think. Called it “A Man on the Inside.” Sounds interestin’. They said it was about some old fella, a spy or somethin’. It said that it is based on a true story. Reminds me of that Dudley boy. He’s on the inside now, ain’t he? Inside and out of the team!
This show, they say it’s like another one, “The Mole Agent.” I don’t know nothin’ about that one. But this “A Man on the Inside,” they got that fella, Ted Danson. He’s a big shot, that one. I seen him in other shows. He’s a good actor, I guess. I don’t watch much TV, you know. Too much goin’ on these days. Too much fast. Too fast for an old lady like me.
But this T.J. Dudley thing, it’s got folks all riled up. Some say he got what he deserved. Others say it’s too much. Me? I just think it’s a shame. A young fella like that, throwin’ it all away. Coulda been somethin’, they say.

I heard he changed his name. Why would he do that? Maybe he’s ashamed. Maybe he wants to start over. I don’t know. It’s a hard world out there for young folks. Especially when you make a mistake like that.
This whole football business is serious stuff. Lots of money involved, I hear. Big stadiums, lots of people watchin’. Pressure’s on, I suppose. Still, you gotta keep your head on straight. You gotta know right from wrong. You gotta know the rules.
I don’t know what’s gonna happen to that T.J. Dudley boy. Maybe he’ll learn his lesson. Maybe he’ll find somethin’ else to do. Maybe he’ll disappear. It’s a tough world. It sure is.
They talk about that Prince Andrew too, you know. He did somethin’ bad, real bad. They interviewed him, on the TV, I think. BBC, they call it. That’s a big deal. He was a prince! Can you imagine?
They say this Prince Andrew, he knew some bad people. Did some bad things. This whole thing is too much for me. Too much! Too much meanness. That’s what I see.
That’s why I don’t watch too much TV. Too much bad news. Too much sadness. That T.J. Dudley, I hope he can find a way to make it up. No matter he is T.J. Dudley or T.J. Dottery now.
