Alright, so I decided to switch things up a bit. Been looking at the same mug in the mirror for ages, you know? Saw this wrestler, Liv Morgan, on TV a while back. Honestly, wasn’t paying much attention to the match, but her hair kinda caught my eye. Looked kinda cool, edgy but not too crazy. Thought, why not?
Getting the Idea Rolling
First thing I did was actually try and find some decent pictures. You know how it is, screen grabs from TV are usually rubbish. Spent maybe twenty minutes scrolling through images online. Needed something clear to show whoever was gonna be chopping my locks.
- Found a couple of good front shots.
- Got one from the side.
- Tried to find a back view, which was trickier.
Figured that was enough to go on. Didn’t want to overthink it. It’s just hair, right? Grows back. Usually.
The Big Day (Sort Of)
Went down to my usual place. It’s nothing fancy, just a local spot. Showed the pics on my phone to the lady who usually cuts my hair. She kinda squinted at the phone.
“You want this?” she asked, pointing at the picture.
“Yeah, something like that,” I said. Trying to sound confident, but honestly, explaining hairstyles isn’t my strong suit. I probably sounded like an idiot.
She shrugged. “Okay. We try.” That ‘we try’ didn’t fill me with massive confidence, gotta say.
The Process & The Result
So, she started snipping away. Lots of combing and looking back at the phone. Then more snipping. Took a fair bit longer than my usual quick trim. Felt kinda weird sitting there, wondering how it was gonna turn out. You stare at yourself in the mirror so long you start noticing weird things about your face.
When she finally spun the chair around, well… it wasn’t exactly like the pictures. Not bad, mind you. Just… different. Shorter in some places than I expected, maybe not as layered or whatever the term is.

It’s definitely shorter. And it feels lighter, which is nice I guess. Looks okay. My wife just raised an eyebrow when I got home, then said “It’s… a change.” Make of that what you will.
End of the day, it’s hair. It’ll grow. Was it worth the hassle of finding pics and the slightly awkward explanation? Eh, maybe. Shook things up a little, stopped me looking like the same old boring guy for a bit. Sometimes you just gotta do something different, even if it’s just a haircut that doesn’t quite hit the mark. Better than getting stuck in a rut, I suppose.
