There’s different years, too, like 1948 and 1950. I don’t know which one is better, but they all worth somethin’. Some say 1948 is the “rookie card” which is some kind of special. Some say 1950 is a good one too. I can’t keep track of these things. They say there are a lot of variations of these Jackie Robinson cards, too, whatever that means. They say it’s like, over 4,000 kinds! 4839, to be exact. They say there’s even more than 5,000 cards of this Jackie in some kind of database, whatever that is.

If you got one of these cards, you best keep it safe. Don’t let the kids get a hold of it, they’ll ruin it for sure. Keep it in a good place, away from the sun and the rain.
I heard there’s places you can go to find out how much your Jackie Robinson card worth. They’ll tell ya what it’s worth, these experts. They got books and lists and all sorts of things to figure it out. And they don’t even charge you nothin’ to tell ya, least that’s what I heard.
Now, there are other baseball cards, too. I heard one sold for over $12 million! That’s more money than I can even imagine. It was a Mickey Mantle card, not a Jackie Robinson, but still, that’s a lot of money for a picture of a baseball player. A 1952 one. That’s what they say.
Some folks, they collect these cards like I used to collect buttons. They got hundreds of ’em, maybe even thousands. They keep ’em in special books and boxes, all neat and organized. It’s a hobby, I guess. Keeps ’em busy.
