Alright, so I’ve been trying to figure out Tiger Woods’ handicap, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a rabbit hole. I mean, the guy’s a legend, right? So, naturally, I wanted to see how I, a very average golfer, stack up.

First, I hit up Google. Just a simple search, you know, “Tiger Woods handicap.” I figured there’d be a straightforward answer. Boy, was I wrong.
I scrolled through a bunch of articles, and it seemed like everybody had a different opinion. Some said he was a +6, some said +8, some even higher. It was all over the place! I mean, I get that it fluctuates, but still, it made it hard to get a solid grasp.
Digging Deeper
So, I decided to get a little more specific. I started looking for recent tournament results, and any articles that talked about his performance. I figured that might give me some clues.
- I checked out some golf forums, where people were debating it back and forth. It seems to me it’s not a easily answered question.
- I got my eyes on many sports news websites, hoping they’d have some insider info. Again a lot of back and forth answers.
I spent a good hour or two just reading and trying to piece it all together. I even tried to find some official USGA info, thinking that might be the definitive source. But even then, it wasn’t super clear. It’s kind of a moving target, it seems, and depends on the course he’s playing and how he’s feeling that day.I even tried to use USGA calculator, and that didn’t give me much.
Finally, I realized that, I can just estimate, I’m not gonna get the exact number. The dude’s a pro, his handicap is gonna be insane, way better than mine, obviously. My final estimation is that he is around +6 to +8.
I am not very pround of what I got, but at least I tried. I guess that’s all part of the fun, right?
