Alright, so I was messing around online the other day, and I got this idea in my head: Who’s the shortest fighter in the UFC? I mean, we always see these huge, ripped guys, but what about the little guys? So, I decided to find out.
First, I just did a simple search, I typed in “shortest UFC fighter” and started scrolling. I saw a bunch of names popping up, like Henry Cejudo, who’s 5’4″, and a lot of other guys listed at the same height. That’s pretty short, but I figured there had to be someone even shorter, right?
Then I found some list of the nine shortest UFC fighters and an honorable mention. They mentioned Cejudo again, so I knew this was a good lead. But I wanted to dig a little deeper. So I started looking at the official UFC stats. I figured they’d have the most accurate info.
- I started by browsing through the UFC’s official records. They have everything listed there, from total fights to wins, finishes, and even KO/TKOs. It’s pretty cool how much data they keep.
- I also checked out some other sites that had fighter stats, just to see if I could find any names that the UFC might have missed. I found one that said Michael Chandler is the second shortest in the Lightweight division at 5’8″.
After a while, I stumbled upon two names: Manny Gamburyan and Tyson Griffin. They both are pretty short for the UFC guys. They are the shortest fighters I found. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any records of fighters shorter than these two. But the search was still fun!
So, yeah, that’s my little adventure into the world of short UFC fighters. It just goes to show that even in a sport dominated by giants, there’s always room for the little guys to make a big impact. I guess it’s true what they say: it’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog!
