Okay, so I saw this awesome picture of Alex Pereira and I was like, “I gotta try painting that on my face!” I’m no makeup artist, but I love a good challenge, you know?

Gathering My Supplies
First things first, I needed to gather my supplies. I already had some basic face paints from a Halloween kit, but I knew I’d need more. I ran to the local craft store and grabbed:
- A few different shades of brown and beige.
- A really fine-tipped brush for the details.
- Some black face paint, of course.
- A couple of sponges.
The Base Layer
I started by washing my face and making sure it was all clean and dry. Then, I used a sponge to apply a light beige color all over as a base. It was kinda streaky at first, but I just kept blending it in until it looked somewhat even. I am not super pro.
Building Up the Features
This is where it got tricky. I started sketching out Pereira’s features with a slightly darker brown. I kept looking back and forth at the picture on my phone, trying to get the shapes right. His cheekbones are super defined, so I spent a lot of time trying to contour those.I used a damp sponge to blend and soften the edges, so it didn’t look too harsh.
The Eyes and Details
The eyes were the hardest part, I am not gonna lie! I used the fine-tipped brush and the black paint to outline them, trying to capture that intense stare he has. It took a few tries to get them symmetrical. Then, I added some smaller details, like the lines around his mouth and the shadows under his eyes. I tried to be subtle with it, but it’s easy to go overboard.
Finishing Touches
I stepped back and looked at the whole thing. It was…okay. Definitely not perfect, but recognizable, I think! I added a bit more shading here and there, blended some more, and then called it done. I took a few selfies, of course. Gotta document the effort, right?
Overall, it was a fun little project! It definitely took longer than I expected, and my face felt kinda stiff afterward, but it was worth it. Maybe I’ll try another fighter next time. Any suggestions?
