Okay, so I wanted to dig into Ja’Marr Chase’s performance, and I figured the best way was to look at his game logs. First I needed find a good source, and I figured I’d go to a big site.
I started by opening up my browser and typing in a search, Something like “Ja’Marr Chase game log”.
Finding the Stats
The search results popped up, and I clicked on a couple, Then I scrolled down to the game log section. It was a big table with all the games, dates, opponents, and a bunch of stats.
Organizing the Data
Now, just looking at a webpage is okay, but I wanted to really mess with the numbers. So, I decided to copy the whole table. I highlighted everything, right-clicked, and hit “Copy”.
Next, I opened up a spreadsheet program. Any one will do, really. I pasted the data into a new sheet. Bam! All the game logs were right there, ready for me to analyze.
Analyzing the Numbers
With all the data in the spreadsheet, I could now do some cool stuff. Here’s some of the things I checked out:
- Averaged his receiving yards per game to see his typical performance.
- Looked at his highest and lowest yardage games to see his range.
- Checked his touchdown numbers to see how often he was scoring.
- Sorted the data by opponent to see if he performed better against certain teams.
By playing around with the data like this, I got a much better feel for Ja’Marr Chase’s season, It’s a pretty simple process, but it helps, and it made a big different for me.
