Well now, lemme tell ya somethin’ about that fella CM Punk. Folks talkin’ left and right, wonderin’ if he’s an atheist or what. First off, lemme say, CM Punk—real name Philip Jack Brooks—ain’t exactly your run-of-the-mill wrestler. Nope, he’s got a mind all his own, an’ he don’t mind tellin’ ya straight up how he sees things.
See, CM Punk, he ain’t one for believin’ in God or any o’ that. Nope, he calls himself an atheist, plain and simple. Ain’t no church on Sundays for him, no crosses hangin’ on his walls neither. He’s the type that lives life by his own rules, and that’s why he goes by that “straight-edge” lifestyle o’ his. Now, what’s that mean, you ask? Well, it means he don’t touch no drink, no smokes, no drugs—nothin’ that might mess with his mind or body.
People got real curious ‘bout him when he went on WWE shows and such, spoutin’ stuff that shook folks up a bit. One time on WWE’s big show, “Monday Night Raw,” he said he was “God.” Well, lemme tell ya, that ruffled a few feathers! Folks don’t take kindly to words like that, but CM Punk, he didn’t seem to care none. He just went on, said what he had to say, and left folks scratchin’ their heads wonderin’ what in the world he meant by it.
Now, ya gotta know this about CM Punk—he’s been stickin’ to his guns on this atheist thing for years. Way back, he even put it out there on the internet, sayin’ how he don’t see things like most folks. He ain’t one to mince words neither. If ya ask him, he’ll tell ya flat out, he don’t believe in no higher power, an’ he thinks people can live just fine without all that.
Some folks wonder how he can live like that, but he’s got his reasons. He says he believes in honesty more than anything else. Honesty to himself, honesty to others. Maybe that’s why he don’t put no stock in religion or nothin’ like that. Now, don’t go thinkin’ he’s out to insult anyone who does. Naw, he’s just stickin’ to what he feels, that’s all.
So, there ya have it. CM Punk don’t follow no religion, don’t believe in God, an’ that’s that. He’s got himself this straight-edge way of life where he don’t let no outside stuff mess with his mind. He believes in himself, he believes in stayin’ strong, an’ he believes in honesty. Ain’t much else to it. He’s his own man, an’ he’ll tell ya so if ya ask him. People might talk an’ they might not get it, but he’s doin’ just fine by his own measure.
So, what’s the big deal? Well, I reckon folks don’t see many like him, a man standin’ firm on bein’ atheist and straight-edge, especially in a place like WWE where controversy makes headlines. CM Punk, he’s got folks talkin’, whether they love him or hate him. But in the end, he’s just livin’ his life, stickin’ to his beliefs, and that’s all there is to it. If ya ask me, that’s as plain an’ honest as it gets.
