Well, hey there, y’all! Let’s chew the fat about this fella, this… uh… Chiefs quarterback, yeah, that’s right, Dawson. Folks keep jabberin’ about him in them crossword puzzles, you know, the things with all the squares and clues? Drives me nuts sometimes, all them words and such.
Now, I ain’t no fancy pants expert or nothin’, but from what I hear, this Dawson fella was a big deal. Played a long time, they say. Like, 19 seasons! Can you imagine? That’s a whole lotta football, I tell ya. He played for the Kansas City Chiefs, mostly. Them Chiefs, they’re a pretty big deal around here, even though I don’t follow much football myself.
Seems like folks always tryin’ to figure out his name in them crosswords. They use all sorts of fancy words to describe him. Like, “Pro quarterback” and stuff. Sometimes they even say he’s in the “Pro Football Hall of Fame.” That must be somethin’ special, right? All them big words just to say it was Dawson, the football player.
- They ask stuff like “Chiefs quarterback ____”
- Or maybe “Quarterback Dawson in the Hall of Fame”
- And sometimes just plain old “Quarterback Dawson”
It’s always the same fella, though. This Dawson. I reckon he musta been real good, seein’ as how he’s in all them puzzles. It’s like tryin’ to find a needle in a haystack sometimes, all them letters and clues. But once you figure it out, it’s like, “Oh, yeah! That’s him! That’s Dawson!”
People, they keep searchin’ for the answers, ya know? Online, in books, everywhere. They even got websites and stuff, just for helpin’ with crosswords. Can you believe that? Spendin’ all that time on puzzles! I’d rather be out in the garden, tendin’ to my tomatoes, if you ask me.
This Dawson guy, they say his first name was Len. Or sometimes Leonard. I guess he had a middle name too, Ray. So, it’s Len Dawson, or Leonard Ray Dawson, if you wanna be all fancy about it. Born way back in 1935, they say. Lived a long life, too, till 2022. That’s a lot of years, ain’t it?
Now, when they ask for Dawson in them crosswords, they might use words like “replace” or “supersede.” I guess that means he took someone’s place on the team or somethin’. Or maybe they use “displace.” Sounds like musical chairs to me! But I reckon it’s all just fancy talk for the same thing: this Dawson fella was a good quarterback for the Chiefs.
They even got some giant puzzle, they call it “Herbko World’s Largest Puzzle,” it’s huge, like 6-1/2 feet by 6-1/2 feet, can you imagine that? And it’s got tons of squares, they said ninety-one thousand! It even comes with a book of clues, twenty-four of ‘em! Now, I don’t know if Dawson’s in that one, but it wouldn’t surprise me none. He seems to be everywhere else!
So, there you have it, folks. A little somethin’ about this Dawson fella. He was a quarterback, played for the Chiefs, and folks love puttin’ him in crosswords. Seems like a decent enough fella, even if I don’t know a whole lot about football. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on them chickens. They’re probably gettin’ into somethin’ they shouldn’t be.
And remember, when you see them clues about a “Chiefs quarterback” or somethin’, chances are they talkin’ about Dawson. Just fill in them letters and move on to the next clue. Ain’t nothin’ to it, really. Just a bunch of words and squares, if you ask me.
Chiefs quarterback Dawson. That’s the name of the game, I reckon.
