Okay, so, I’ve been following the USC Trojans women’s basketball team pretty closely this season. And let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride! I mean, these girls have been absolutely killing it on the court. They even made it to the Elite Eight, the first time in 30 years that this program has gotten that far. It’s seriously impressive.
It all started at the beginning of the season. I remember watching one of their early games, they were playing against Baylor. Baylor got off to a quick start, leading 7-2, but our Trojans? They didn’t back down. They went on a 6-0 run. First, Rayah Marshall got a bucket, and then JuJu Watkins made two scores back-to-back, which put the Trojans ahead. I was on the edge of my seat, cheering them on!
And Watkins, man, she was on fire that game! She scored 15 of the team’s 22 points in the first quarter alone. It was amazing to see her play. I began to keep an eye on every single game since that time.
As the season went on, I watched as many games as I could. I even made some notes, just jotting down highlights and key moments. It felt good to track their progress, like I was a part of their journey in some small way.
The team went through ups and downs, of course, but they always seemed to bounce back. That resilience is something I really admire. This team has got some serious talent, and I enjoyed every game.
Their biggest achievement? Winning the Pac-12 tournament title! It was their first one in a decade. I felt so proud of them, seeing all their hard work pay off like that. I even celebrated, just at home, watching them cut the net. It was a moment for the history books, for sure.
Now that the season’s over, I’m already looking forward to the next one. I’ve got all these notes and memories from this year, and I can’t wait to see what the team does next. It’s been a great experience following them. I hope they can go even further in the future.
