Okay, so, I’ve been looking to upgrade my putter for a while now. I’ve had my old one for ages, and it was starting to show its wear. I heard a lot of good things about the TaylorMade Spider Tour, so I started looking around. Brand new, they’re pretty pricey, you know? So I thought, why not check out the used market?
I started browsing online, checking out a few different places that sell used clubs. I saw a couple of Spider Tours listed, but the prices and conditions varied quite a bit. Some looked pretty beat up, others were a bit more expensive than I wanted to spend. I mean, it’s used, so it shouldn’t be too expensive.
Then I went to a local golf shop, the one down the street from my favorite diner. They have a decent used club section. I spotted a Spider Tour in there, and it looked to be in pretty good shape! I picked it up, examined it closely. The grip was a little worn, but nothing too bad. The head had a couple of minor scratches, but you had to look really closely to see them. Overall, it looked like it had been well taken care of.
I asked the guy at the shop about it, and he said it had just come in a few days ago. He let me take it over to their little putting green area, and I rolled a few putts with it. Man, it felt good! The weight was perfect, and the alignment aid was really helpful. It felt way better than my old putter. I tried it out, comparing different angles, distances. I spent maybe twenty minutes just messing around with it, getting a feel for it.
The price was right, too. It was way less than a new one, and it was in better condition than most of the used ones I had seen online. I haggled a little bit, just for fun, and got the price down a tiny bit more. Sold! I walked out of there with a used TaylorMade Spider Tour putter.
- Checked online marketplaces: Browsed various websites.
- Visited local golf shop: Checked out their used club section.
- Inspected the putter: Examined the grip, head, and overall condition.
- Tested it out: Rolled some putts on their practice green.
- Negotiated the price: Got a small discount.
- Made the purchase: Walked out with my new (used) putter!
I’ve taken it out to the course a few times now, and I’m really happy with it. My putting has definitely improved, even in these few rounds. I’m sinking more putts, and my confidence on the greens is way up. It feels great to have a putter that I can rely on. If you’re thinking about getting a new putter, you should definitely consider going the used route. You can save a lot of money and still get a great club. This used Spider Tour is working out great for me, and I’m glad I went for it. I’m excited to play some more rounds with it!
