Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter online about Viktor Hovland’s gear, and honestly, I was curious too. So, I decided to do a deep dive and figure out exactly what this guy is playing with. It was a bit of a scavenger hunt, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?

The Driver Hunt
First up, the driver. This was the big one. I started by scouring golf forums, checking out equipment reviews, and basically turning into a digital detective. I kept seeing mentions of a few different brands, but nothing concrete.
Then, I remembered a recent tournament where Hovland was absolutely crushing it off the tee. I went back and watched some slow-motion replays of his swing. After some squinting and zooming (my eyes definitely got a workout!), I finally got a good glimpse of the clubhead. It looked, Ping!Bingo.
Ironing Out the Details (Literally)
Next up: irons. This was a bit trickier. Some folks online were saying one thing, others were swearing by something else. It was a mess! I went back to basics. Look at pictures and videos. Close. Up. Pictures. I browsed through tons of images from different tournaments, trying to get a clear shot of the irons in his bag. It was like a Where is Waldo, But for Golf Clubs.
Finally, I found a high-resolution photo from a recent practice round. There it was, clear as day – the distinct markings of a Titleist. Now we were getting the process!
The Wedge Whisperer
Wedges are always so personalized, it’s tough to know what a pro is using. Some people say that is the import part of the golf playing. I started by watching some of Hovland’s short game highlights. I looked for chips, pitches, bunker shots – anything that would give me a good look at his wedges. It was tough, because these guys are so good, they make everything look the same!
But then, I found a video of him practicing in a bunker. He was hitting these beautiful, high, soft shots. And as he walked out of the bunker, the camera caught a glimpse of the clubface. I did the good old replay, pause, zoom move I was becoming familiar. TaylorMade, Ping and Titleist, I guess I got the answer.
The Putter Puzzle
Last but not least, the putter. This is often the most mysterious club in the bag. Some pros change putters like they change socks! I figured this would be the toughest one to nail down.
I went back to my trusty method: tournament footage. I watched hours of putting footage (my wife thought I was going crazy). I was looking for anything – a logo, a shape, a color – that would give me a clue.

Then, I saw it. During a crucial putt on the 18th green, the camera zoomed in on Hovland’s putter. It was a different one! And that’s how I know it.
Putting It All Together
So, after hours of research, squinting at screens, and basically becoming a golf gear archaeologist, here’s my best guess at what Viktor Hovland had in his bag. I felt tired of the hard research, and I am pround of getting these I want:
- Driver: Ping
- Irons: Titleist
- Wedges: TaylorMade, Ping, Titleist
- Putter: Changes according to recent games
Keep in mind, this is just based on my own observations and research. Equipment changes all the time, and pros are notorious for tinkering. But hey, it was a fun investigation, and I feel like I know Viktor Hovland’s game a little bit better now. And that’s all I am sharing for today!
