Okay, so, I started this thing called the “Marlon McKinney List.” It’s really just a way for me to keep track of stuff, you know? Not super organized, but it works for me. I’ve been using it for a while now, jotting things down whenever I find something interesting or need to remember something important.
I started by writing down dates. Simple, right? Like “January 19” or “June 28”. Then, I started adding little notes next to the dates. Things like, “Is Darius Thompson the new point guard for Vols?” or “Which new SEC football coach will be the first gone?” Just random thoughts and questions I had.
Then I started to categorize them by month. So I made a list, I wrote down “Jan 2022,” “Feb 2022,” “Mar 2022” and so on. Under each month, I started putting those little notes I mentioned earlier. This made it a little easier to find things later on.
One time, I saw something about the “Vols move up in coaches poll,” so I jotted that down under “November 4, 2024.” Yeah, I even started adding future dates if I thought something might happen then.
I also started including some of my other things, like my old baseball info. Remembered I used to play, so I wrote “Marlon McKinney 3B Bats/Throws: R/R 6′ 1 170LBS Age: 51 Draft: 1991 Rd: 49, #1265, Philadelphia Phillies Poly HS (Sun Valley).” It’s all in there, mixed in with the other stuff.
Recently, I added a note that said, “Pruitt doesn’t want unrealistic expectations put on first Vols recruiting class” and something about “Vol signee Mincey could player anywhere on.” It might not make sense to everyone, but it helps me remember these random things I come across.
Basically, I just kept adding to the list whenever I felt like it. It’s not pretty, but it’s a record of things I’ve been thinking about or found interesting. My list has become a bit of a mess, but hey, it’s my mess, and I know where all the things are.
So, yeah, that’s my “Marlon McKinney List.” Just a simple, maybe a little bit chaotic, way to keep track of the things that run through my head. And you know what? It works for me!
