Today I wanna talk about my journey with Alexis Laree, which, as some of you might know, is one of the ring names of the famous wrestler, Mickie James. I first got into this whole thing back in 1999, yeah, it was a while ago. She was just starting out as a valet on the independent circuit, and man, was it a sight to see.
I started by hitting up various training camps, just like she did, to get a better grip on the whole wrestling scene. It was tough, lots of sweat, you know? I wanted to know how things worked behind the scenes.
- First off, I watched a ton of her early matches, studying her moves and all that jazz.
- Then, in June 2002, I really dug into her work with NWA: Total Nonstop Action. That’s where she really started to shine, if you ask me.
- I even went to some wrestling events, I had to, it helped me to get into the vibe of it all.
Later on, I found out she signed a developmental deal with WWE and had a good run with Ohio Valley Wrestling. That was a big deal! I spent hours just tracking her progress there, noting how she evolved as a wrestler. It was like watching someone grow right in front of your eyes.
Then there was this whole thing where she was known as “Hardcore Country”. I followed that phase closely, too. And oh boy, the storylines she got involved in! I had pages of notes on those, trying to figure out the why’s and how’s of each plot.
Fast forward to 2024, and guess what? She’s now the Creative Director, Head of Female Talent, and Executive Producer of OVW’s wrestling shows. When I heard, I was like, “Wow, she’s come a long way!” I immediately updated all my notes and started following her new role, because, why not? It’s all part of the journey.
It’s been a wild ride, following Alexis Laree’s career from a valet to a top executive in the wrestling world. And you know what? I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything. It taught me a lot about wrestling, about dedication, and about how people can really grow and change over time.
So yeah, that’s my story with Alexis Laree. It’s been a blast, and I’m still here for it, taking notes, and enjoying the ride.
