My Dive into McGregor Clothes
So, I kept seeing stuff about McGregor’s clothing line here and there. You know, Conor McGregor. Always flashy. Saw some pictures, thought some pieces looked alright, kinda sharp but casual. Got curious, figured I’d check it out myself, see what the fuss was about.

Went online, looked up “August McGregor”. Found out it’s this thing he does with some fancy suit guy, David August. Supposed to be ‘athleisure’, which usually just means comfy tracksuits or hoodies, but they try to make it sound high-end. Browsed the stuff they had. Some hoodies, polos, jackets… the usual suspects.
First impressions? Okay, the style wasn’t bad. Clean lines on some items. But man, the prices made me pause. Definitely not your average sportswear cost. You’re paying for the name, obviously, and this David August connection I guess. I wasn’t sure if the quality would actually match the tag.
I mulled it over for a bit. Kept seeing the brand pop up. Finally, I thought, “Alright, let’s just try one thing.” Didn’t want to go crazy. Ended up grabbing one of their basic hoodies. Seemed like a safe bet to test the waters. The ordering process online was simple enough, no dramas there. Just click, pay, and wait.
When the package arrived, it was… fine. Nothing super fancy about the box or anything. Pulled out the hoodie. Here’s the rundown:
- Fabric: Felt pretty decent, actually. Soft, had a bit of weight to it. Better than some cheap stuff, for sure.
- Fit: This was okay too. Fit as expected, not too baggy, not too tight. Sleeves were a good length.
- Look: It looked like the picture, which is always a plus. Simple logo, clean design. Nothing too loud.
Wore it around for a few days. Washing machine test next. Put it through a wash cycle, came out alright. Didn’t shrink much, didn’t fall apart. That’s good.
So, what’s the final word?
It’s decent clothing. Comfortable, seems well-made enough from the one piece I got. Is it revolutionary? Nah. Is it worth the premium price? That’s the tricky part. You’re definitely paying extra for the McGregor name and the association with luxury tailoring, even if it’s just a hoodie.
To be honest, you can probably find similar quality stuff for less if you shop around. But if you like the specific style, or you’re a big fan, maybe it’s worth it to you. For me, it was an okay experience. Got a solid hoodie out of it. Will I rush back to buy more? Probably not immediately. It’s good, but not that good for the price point, in my book. Just sharing my two cents from actually buying and trying it.
